We avoid eye contact with each other. All of us. Like we’re in a video game where everyone else is a non-playing character in our personal storyline. But not you. You just clicked on my About Me page. Great job! You just recognized that I am a person – and maybe you want to know more. Just remember, it’s okay if we disagree on things; we all have our own stories to tell.
As for my story, I am an optimistic, adventure-seeking, feminist, liberal, music-loving, yoga-centered, outdoorsy, educator and writer. I am married. No children. And not planning on it.
In this blog, I aim to look at a variety of issues and everyday events that might help others to look at things from different perspectives – and to help myself step back or imaginatively trade places with someone to gain insight. My hope is that you will be inspired by my posts, be motivated to get involved in whatever issues are important to you, and gain insight into issues you hadn’t thought about or had maybe thought about only in one-dimensional terms.
And maybe, you might start saying “Hi” or “Good morning” to strangers, because each of them is the main character in his or her own storyline, and you have the opportunity to play a part.
