We decided to jump for it. Fully. We put down a deposit for Columbia University on campus housing which will allow me to be fully involved and hopefully network my way to a scholarship or research job.

Who knows if it’s the right decision. Is there such a thing? It’s all a gamble. But unlike Vegas, the only wrong decision would be to not play at all. I know for sure that I would regret not taking the risk.

I’m lucky enough to have access to credit and people to fall back on if it all goes to shit. I get to live in the most vibrant, inspiring city. I get to study the brain and it’s amazing ability to learn and make new connections (and just think about how many new connections my own brain is going to make!!). The chance to contribute to this knowledge base is beyond words exciting.

I’m all in. And it feels fantastic.
