This tree has lived through it all… and so can you!

It seems fitting, or perhaps – necessary – to share some of my favorites from our road trip as a wrap-up to my “Camping across the country” series. But I also want to share this as a reprieve from this awful, awful election season. While I’m not going to write about the election (at least, not right now) on here, please do not misunderstand me. I just don’t have the time nor the energy to devote to writing a well-thought-out post on the topic right now. Plus, we all need a little happiness. So here is my happiness.

Take care and find your happiness. We have a right to be angry and upset about the election. Some would argue that we NEED to be angry in order to hold onto all of the progress that we have made in the past 8 years. But we also have a right to – and a NEED for – happiness. We will have some battles ahead, but if we neglect our happiness and our joy, we won’t be strong enough to fight them, and we’ll lose sight of what makes it all worthwhile. Remember: Time marches on. And it marches towards justice. This is just a set-back, like pulling back the band of a slingshot.
