As the title suggests, I’ve made the difficult decision to move most of my future blog posts over to Substack. Don’t worry if you have no clue what a substack is – basically it just means that I’ll be posting on a different website. But that also means if you want to continue receiving an email notification when I publish something new, you have to click the link below and subscribe.
Writing this blog over the past 10+ years has been an incredible outlet for me. It helped me discover who I am while also developing my voice and writing skill beyond measure. When I started, of course, I also hoped it would help lead me towards more writing opportunities. And did it ever!
It’s still pretty surreal that I published a book earlier this year. If you missed it, click here to check it out: Overcoming the School Trauma Cycle: Academic and Emotional Supports for Struggling Learners.
Since the publication, though, most people who visit my website these days are looking for education resources – not necessarily my travel adventures, personal essays, and mediocre poetry. Hah! For those of you who have been with me through all the twists and turns, you know I’ve been writing all kinds of different things on my blog.
Maybe you joined me to read some of my travel posts, like our epic adventure into the Havasupai Reservation to swim under blue-green waterfalls.
Or our camping across the country trip where we visited 6 National Parks during our move from Tucson to NYC.

Maybe you’re a writer and enjoyed reading about my writing journey or some of my poetry. Or maybe you clicked the subscribe button after reading my most popular post about female musicians who rock or my second most popular post about my incredible grandmas and what they taught me. (We won’t speculate on why so many people stumbled onto my blog from this post, but it might be worth noting that the title includes the word naked.)
I plan to continue writing on all these disparate topics in the future! In fact, I want to get back into a regular blogging habit.
Like I said, though, the website where I’m going to post in the future is changing. Which means, if you want to keep following along, you have to hit that subscribe button all over again. You’ll have the option of selecting which categories of posts you’d like to follow or of course, you can follow all of them!
For now, most of my blog posts will still be technically available here but they won’t be featured in the menu bar on my homepage. You can access them all here:
New posts related to these categories will now be on Substack! I would love it if you follow me there – just click the link and subscribe so you don’t miss out on new content.
