Several weeks ago, I wrote about how I won a contest and was given a Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile Keyboard. Right away, I knew it was awesome because it folds in half! Like, literally folds in half so that you can take it anywhere without worrying about it getting broken. It’s also a solid keyboard with keys that are easy to the touch. I loved the feel of it right away.
But I didn’t even know the half of it! This keyboard is the epitome of ergonomic keyboards.
The keyboard does 2 super cool things that help you keep good posture:
- See that split down the middle of the keyboard? This angle can be made smaller or larger to fit your comfort. I didn’t even know that a straight keyboard was making me twist my wrists, arms, shoulders to type! I definitely feel the difference now. My shoulders are relaxed, which keeps my whole body in alignment.
- The second thing – which again, I didn’t realize how neat it was until I tried it – is what they refer to as a the “tent” angle. This keyboard can be adjusted so that the middle of the keyboard is higher than the edges. This is hard to explain, so just picture a tent. It’s like that. I’m not a doctor or a physical therapist or anything, but it makes sense that this angle would alleviate pressure on the wrists, arms, and shoulders. A regular keyboard forces you to twist your shoulders/arms/wrists to align your hands with the keys that are directly in front of you. This keyboard twists itself to align with the natural position of your shoulders/arms/wrists. Big difference. Love love love. Go to the Goldtouch website for more pics and info.
Thanks again to Goldtouch and to Fit Is a Feminist Issue for having the contest through which I won this keyboard!
Got your Grandma Mickey’s luck. She was always winning contests. =)
